Isle of Wight Forest Church

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature. (Romans 1:20). We believe in getting to know the heart of the Creator by looking at his Creation.

Isle of Wight Forest Church Winter View

This is a new and exciting time for the IOW Forest Church. We are a small group of Christians who gather together to enjoy God’s creation once a month. Everyone is welcome to any meeting, whether from the Island or just visiting (including dogs/children), although please do bear in mind that we are travelling a journey, we aren’t the finished product!

Each meeting is different, depending on the location. Attending for the first time you would expect to go on a walk*, which will include some quiet space for reflection, as well as time to get to know each other, and a ‘take-away’ thought, object, or skill. The time is then rounded off with the group coming together to share any thoughts or revelations that they received.

*Please do wear suitable footwear, and if bringing a pushchair/wheelchair please let us know so we can plan a suitable route!

Meetings take place on the 3rd Sunday of every month, at 3pm. The location will vary each month, but in general are on the East side of the Island, so check the website, or get in touch by emailing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address),  to receive updates (either by text or email, your choice).

We seek to foster a love of creation, a love which will lead us to care for it. We look for reconciliation between nature and human beings, and within human relationships. More ...

Daily Reflections for Nature Connection

There are some lovely moments in the Gospels in which Jesus, sitting or walking with his disciples, calls their attention to something. There is a sense that the disciples inhabit two worlds but are perhaps aware only of one until he says to them “Do you see this?” and, looking more closely, something deeper is revealed. Approaching nature in our own time we too find that we occupy two worlds, those of science and spirituality, and most of us are more familiar with the first. This book is an attempt to bring these two worlds into closer companionship.  More ...
